Calgon Carbon Begins 2002 With More Than $11 Million in New Contracts

PITTSBURGH, PA — February 1, 2002 — Calgon Carbon Corporation announced today that during January it recently received new contracts totaling more than $11 million. Revenue and income from the contracts will be realized in 2002.

The contracts include:
  • Sale of a $4.5 million ISEP® system to remove perchlorate from groundwater.
  • Sale of a Sentinel™ UV Disinfection System to inactivate cryptosporidium and other pathogens in drinking water.
  • Orders for the company's specialty carbons to remove MTBE from groundwater and mercury from natural gas.
  • New service sales exceeding $3 million, primarily for the municipal and oil industries.
