Calgon Carbon Corporation Announces An Integrated, Total Solutions
Approach to Custom Chemical Production with its Engineered Solutions
Technology
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania February 19, 2002 — Calgon Carbon
Corporation announced today that it is aggressively pursuing
relationships with custom chemical manufacturers with an approach that
considers the entire process for chemicals production and the value of
providing multiple approaches with its Engineered Solutions
technologies.
There are two Calgon Carbon Engineered Solutions technologies that can
be applied to a typical chemical reaction unit process:
- The use of the VARA Technology's Solvent Recovery or VOC Abatement
systems to handle the solvent vapors going to or from the process
condensor.
- The use of the ISEP®/CSEP® continuous processing
technology for achieving complex separations after the reaction
vessel, including Calgon Carbon Corporations separations.
The same processes can also be incorporated into the crystallization
step, for solvent vapor treatment or in purification prior to
drying.
The VARA Technologies division of Calgon Carbon's Engineered Solutions
Platform also offers distillation systems that are designed,
manufactured and installed for separating solvents from the chemical
synthesis process.
