Calgon Carbon Announces Expanded Capabilities and Facilities for Servicing the Custom Chemical Manufacturing Industry
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania February 22, 2002 Calgon Carbon
Corporation announced today expanded investments in laboratory
equipment, piloting and personnel resources to support customers
seeking to optimize custom chemical products for pharmaceutical and
biotechnology industries.
The 40,000 sq. foot laboratory has a new explosion proof ion exchange
continuous simulated moving bed (SMB) production system known as
CSEP®. "Customers recognize the importance of SMB and the
advantages of CSEP® beyond traditional SMB processes. Our
laboratory now has additional capabilities, including advanced
computer modeling, to provide customers piloting to scale-up
manufacturing services", says Dr. Nicholas R. Pollack, Director of
Process Engineering and Research.
Dr. David Fair, Chemical Process Manager, has joined the group
supporting the increased resources. Dr. Fair was previously with
BAYER Corporation for 20 years. "Dr. Fair provides great experience
to our processing team", says Dr. Nicholas Pollack.
Assessing Purification, Separation, Recovery and Synthesis Needs
