Calgon Carbon European Operation Awarded Contract for Odor Control System
Pittsburgh, PA — May 31, 2002 — Calgon Carbon Corporation
announced today that its European operation, Chemviron Carbon, has
received a contract valued at nearly $400,000 to supply four of its
Titan™ odor control systems for the wastewater treatment facility in
the city of Liverpool, England.
The Titan™ systems being provided are the largest odor control
systems produced by Calgon Carbon, with each system capable of
treating up to 90,000 cubic meters of air per hour. These systems are
being provided as part of an integrated odor supplied to the city of
Liverpool by the Alderley Systems Company.
Calgon Carbon Corporation and Chemviron Carbon, its European
operation, has been a provider of wastewater odor control products to
municipalities and industries around the world for over thirty
years. Wastewater treatment facility processes often produce odorous
emissions. These emissions often constitute a significant nuisance to
the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses and must be
controlled.
