Chemviron Carbon Engineered Solutions are providing purity in more than 1,700 systems worldwide in the following industries:



Aerospace
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations technology is used to remove ammonium perchlorate and purify processing liquids. The Rayox® UV system eliminates NDMA in contaminated groundwater. Solvent Recovery and VOC Abatement systems are used for metal forming and painting applications.

Agriculture
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations technology leads the world in lysine production. Juice purification, corn syrup deashing, beet sugar purification, and sweetener decolorization are practiced daily in many ISEP® installations. Pesticide removal from wastewater is done with Rayox® UV.

Air Treatment
CADRE® and Revolver®-Z systems treat VOC emissions from surface finishing, metal forming and metal shaping operations. Degreasing solutions and solvents can be treated effectively.

Automotive

Biotechnology

Coatings/Paints
Solvent-based finishing systems for furniture, vehicles and plastics compounding use CADRE® or Revolver®-Z for recovery or purification.

Commodity Chemicals
The ISEP® ion exchange system is used to purify, separate, recover or synthesize products and remove impurities or trace elements. Fertilizers and vitamins can be produced in a continuous process. Customized distillation systems and solvent recovery Revolver®-Z systems are developed by Vara Technologies.

Cosmetics
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations technology can purify alcohols and separate isomers for improved fragrances and flavors. CADRE® and Revolver®-Z systems treat, recover and purify solvents used in manufacturing.

Drinking Water/Potable Water
  • Sentinel™ UV Disinfection System has proven success in disinfection and inactivation of cryptosporidium oocysts in drinking water. In addition, it can be used for protozoans, virusus, and bacteria.
  • ISEP®/ISEP®+ Ion Exchange Separations technology can be used for Ammonium Perchlorate/Nitrate Removal & Destruction Module. The technology has received status as approved drinking water treatment from the California Department of Health and Services.
  • Rayox® UV Oxidation Systems can be used for destruction of organic contaminants.
  • Calgon Carbon Corporation granular activated carbon serves as a vital filtration media in many plants.

Environmental Protection
The ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations technology, combined with a unique ammonium perchlorate destruction module and Rayox® UV, is removing ammonium perchlorate, NDMA and other organics from groundwater. Rayox® UV Oxidation for ground remediation is the world's leading UV technology. Municipal waste treatment plants treat air emissions with Phoenix™ Odor Control systems.

Fermentation
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations technology leads the world in lysine purification and recovery, as well as, other amino acids. Solvent vapors are recovered with custom solvent recovery systems. Process wastewater can be treated to MACT standards using advanced distillation systems.

Food Products
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations technology leads the world in lysine production. Juice purification, corn syrup deashing, beet sugar purification and sweetener decolorization are practiced daily in many ISEP® installations. Pesticide removal from wastewater is done with Rayox® UV Oxidation, as well as CSEP® Continuous Ion Exchange Separations technology for separation and recovery of Vitamin E from natural sources using chromatographic processes. ISEP® is used in various processes to produce Vitamin C.

Fuels
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations is used to remove sulfur from diesel fuel.

Groundwater Remediation
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations, combined with a unique ammonium perchlorate destruction module and Rayox® UV, is removing ammonium perchlorate, NDMA and other organics from groundwater. Rayox® UV Oxidation for ground remediation is the world's leading UV technology.

Hydrometallurgy
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations can be combined with proprietary, complementary technology for recovering and purifying copper, gallium, nickel, zinc, vanadium and aluminum from process streams. Nickel is also removed from cobalt electrolyte streams. Gold, silver and other precious metals are recovered with ISEP®.

Laboratory Science
ISEP® Ion Exchange Separation systems are sold in laboratory scale for bench chemistry evaluation of products and processes. Sentinel™ UV systems are also used in laboratories for pathogen testing.

Military
Rayox® UV and Perox-Pure™ UV systems are known worldwide for effective groundwater remediation treatment of organic contaminants. The ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations technology, combined with a NASA developed catalyst reactor system, destroys ammonium perchlorate in groundwater. The Revolver®-Z or CADRE® System, combined with a thermal oxidizer, contains then abates painting emissions for Naval or other military vehicles. ISEP® systems purify various confidential materials.

Printing
Rotogravure and lithography imaging processes, as well as printing ink-based solvents, are treated or recovered by CADRE® or Revolver®-Z custom systems.

Rubber Products
Fugitive solvent emissions are treated or recovered with CADRE® or Revolver®-Z. Rayox® UV Oxidation systems effectively treat acryla nitral, acetone and other industrial wastewater by-products.

Semiconductor/Electronics
Rayox® UV Oxidation systems are used to destroy organics and other TOCs. CADRE® or Revolver®-Z solvent recovery or VOC abatement systems are used to process crystal preparation, water fabrication and printed circuit boards. Engineered Solutions for point source emissions control are also available.

Specialty Chemicals

Sugar
Juice purification, corn syrup deashing, beat sugar purification and sweetener decolorization are practiced daily in many ISEP® Ion Exchange Separations installations. CSEP® continuous chromatographic systems separate sorbitol, mannitol, sucralose, fructose and xylose. Sugar recovery from molasses and betaine recovery are standard applications with CSEP®.

Thermoplastics
Fugitive VOC and solvent emissions from plastic forming operations are recovered or abated using CADRE® or Revolver®-Z.

Water Treatment
