Calgon Carbon Corporation's Vara Technologies group provides solvent
recovery, distillation, and VOC abatement solutions to a wide variety
of industries around the world.
Solvent Recovery
For industrial process emissions that contain high concentrations of
valuable solvents, solvent recovery and reuse allows our clients to
save money by allowing them to recover and reuse as much as 99% of
their solvents. Our custom Solvent Recovery Systems use regenerative
carbon adsorption technology. Recovered water insoluble solvents can
be directed reused following mechanical decantation. Water-soluble
solvents are further separated, dehydrated and purified prior to
reuse. Our systems are engineered to deliver greater than 99%
on-stream factor.
VOC Abatement
For treatment of large volumes of air or gas containing low
concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), our VOC Abatement
Systems provide a viable alternative to solvent recovery. We offer a
variety of VOC abatement systems to meet specific client needs.
Our CADRE® Series VOC Systems provides a simple and cost-effective
solution to remove of compounds such as chlorinated and
non-chlorinated hydrocarbons, including paraffins, aromatics, ketones,
and esters. CADRE combines the technologies of fixed bed carbon
adsorption, thermal regeneration with hot gases, and controlled
thermal oxidation into a single system. CADRE can be provided as a
multiple vessel system for continuous operation, or as a single vessel
Mono-CADRE system for batch operations.
Another option for VOC abatement is our Revolver®-Z Series VOC
Abatement Concentrator system, built around our zeolite rotor
technology. Coupled with a thermal oxidizer, the Revolver-Z system
provides a highly efficient VOC control system at a reasonable
price.
We can also provide custom Thermal Oxidation Systems for complete VOC
destruction.
Distillation
To separate and recover valuable solvents in pure form suitable for
reuse, we can provide batch or continuous Advanced Distillation
Systems. These systems can be provided in conjunction with our solvent
recovery carbon adsorption technology or as stand-alone units.
